Stagecoach Ride

Cohen says:

Just a quick Saturday afternoon check-in. We are currently at the park with grandma, grandpa, and Molly enjoying a nice bumpy wagon ride from daddy.

Hope everyone else is having fun too!

Cohen Lloyd Wright

Cohen says:

Just wanted to report in that we are back from our Thursday night adventures and now we are playing at home with daddy. As Callie mentioned, I stayed with Mimi and papa last night and I was able to successfully bribe Mimi so that she would tell mommy and daddy that I was an angel.

We are just having a quiet morning, mostly watching Mickey and playing with blocks. I tried playing with Callie but she just kept knocki h stuff over. Silly girls!

I Found Nemo!!!

Callie says:

That's right...Cohen has been trying to find Nemo for months, and I found him tonight! Ok, in reality that means that I went swimming for the first time out of the bathtub tonight and it was FUN! Luckily Cohen, Mimi, and Papa were there to show me how to do it.

We have quite the next few days planned...Tonight, I get to stay all alone with mommy and daddy while Cohen goes home with Mimi and Papa. Then tomorrow, its daddy day, and who knows what the weekend will bring? So far, I've heard plans of fort building and a home inspection...dunno what that means though.

More later!

Drinks

Cohen says:

Just a quick Sunday note as we wrap up another fun weekend. The grandparent five-fecta has been completed once again, and to celebrate, I made myself a kids appletini. No worries though...its just apple slices that I dipped into my ice water.

Hopefully everyone else is finishing their weekend in a similarly enjoyable fashion.

We are about to jump back in the car one more time and head home so it's time to say goodnight. More details from the weekend soon!

Weekend Roadtrip

Cohen says:

Hi everybody! As Callie promised earlier, we have a few more pictures to share from our weekend which included visits with all of our grandparents, lots of Aunties, and lots of fun adventures!

In reality, our weekend started on Friday, which is daddy's day to stay home with us. We played at home most of the day, and while he doesn't feed as well or keep as quite as clean as mommy, we still have lots of fun.

Since we've been looking at a lot of houses lately, we actually packed up the car and headed to Bellingham to look at a couple of properties, and then afterwards we went over to mommy's work for a bit. I might as well be the one to share that while mommy and daddy were working on something, I MAY have misplaced the only set of keys to mommy's car, and the following hour of searching a contained space at 2 year old level provided no results. I think mommy and daddy are going to try again tomorrow - I sure hope they find them. Sorry mommy!!

After the real estate / lost keys fiasco, we stopped for a quick Pizza Hut dinner, and then decided that since we were heading south for the weekend anyways, that we should make a late night drive and go see Grandpa and Grandma, and Molly of course! We stopped quickly at home to pack up, then settled in for the drive. Since it was late, and because we'd rather stay up late anytime we can, we both decided to sleep in the car so that we'd have lots of energy, even though we didn't get to Grandpa's until about 8:30.

Our stay at Casa de Grandpa et Grandma was short, but as is usually the case, never boring. I'm not sure if everyone has met my friend Molly or not, but I always have fun with her. Other than the fact that she has 4 legs, sleeps in a crate, eats gross stuff, and is a DOG, we are just about twins. We get to spend lots of time wrestling and playing with toys - always a highlight.

Callie says:
.
Tired of Cohen's boyish (read: borish) story telling? Me too! Before we move on, a few details... First of all, the silly boy mixed up Auntie Autumn and Auntie Maeggie's names the WHOLE time we were there. I mean seriously, HOW EMBARASSING! Also, just gotta remind everyone of the key thing. I, of course, would NEVER do something like that. I don't want to brag, but I've been told that I'm a perfect angel. Yup - PERFECT!
.
Anyways, after Cohen roughed house with Molly until they were both exhausted, we re-loaded the family wagon, and headed even further south. You see, Mimi and Papa (yes, THE Mimi and Papa from previous blog lore) had stayed in Tacoma overnight, and were staying in the South End for the weekend, so we decided to meet them for a quick lunch at the Cheesecake Factory at Southcenter. Not only did I get to cuddle up with Mimi and Papa, but Grammy and She-She also joined us! I'm not gonna lie - I'm still getting used to our family routines, but anytime that I can see all 5 of my grandparents in a 2 hour stretch - I'm a happy camper for sure!
.
.
After watching the adults pig-out on Viking sized portions (I abstained - trying to keep my girlish figure ya know), we said buh-bye to Mimi and Papa, and decided to try out that game they do on the Flintstones. I think it's called "Bo-ling" or "Bowling" or something, but I'm not really sure, cause I didn't see anything that looked like a "Bo" or a "Bowl"! Either way, it wasn't really my thing, so I napped through it, but Cohen proved to be quite good (when he wasn't running out on the lanes, making daddy chase him of course).
.
.
I'm not entirely sure about the transition from Bowling to our next event since I slept through it, but I'm pretty sure that from there, we just went back to Grammy's house, and decided to relax since we were all tired, and still full from a big lunch!
.
Now, as a refresher, aside from Grammy herself, Grammy's house is known for her two, lion-like cats named Oliver and Tommy. The cats don't seem to mind me much, other than my random shreiking, but Oliver and Cohen seem to be at odds with each other, although I'm not sure Cohen quite gets it. Cohen spends a lot of time trying to be friends with the cat, and once the cat gets tired of it, he trys to hiss at Cohen, but Cohen just giggles and hisses back. Mommy and daddy say Cohen is really smart - I'm not so sure sometimes though...

.
Cohen says:
.
Ok, I have to stop in here. I haven't exactly read what Callie is putting out there, but I can tell by her evil-ish giggle that there's likely some half-truths and slander.
.
But she is right - we spent the rest of the evening, as well as much of today at Grammy's house, which is always fun. I got to play quite a bit with my friends Oliver and Tommy, Callie got to help Grammy make breakfast and make cookies, and we even went to the park for awhile!
.
.
As much fun as the weekend was, we are back home now, and I can't say that I'm dissappointed. I tend to be a bit of a homebody, especially cause I can play with my own toys, sleep in my own bed, and generally rule the roost in the way that any legit 2 year old should!

.
In other news, not a whole lot to report, but here's a few details of our life as of late. First of all, as has been mentioned, mommy is now working as the Director of Marianne's House (www.Marianneshouse.org), which is great, because she works partially from home, and partially in the office. That means that she stays home with Callie and I Monday thru Thursday, and Daddy works 4/10's so that he can stay home Friday while mommy goes into the office.

It's a bit of a sacrifice on everyone's part, but overall, I can't imagine anything better than getting to stay home with my parents. I know that I'm a bit of a turd sometimes, but I have to say THANK YOU to mommy for making such a sacrifice for me and Cal-Cals.
.
.
I also mentioned earlier that we have been looking at houses as of late. Let me tell you - that's quite the process. Mommy and Daddy have made offers on a few houses, and had some interesting stories from those experiences. That said, we're still looking, and who know's what will happen?
.

.
Also, you may have noticed that some well-placed advertising has recently graced this blog with it's presence. Without feeling like too much of a sell-out, we've just been trying some new things with the lay-out of this new blog, and "monetizing" it seemed like a worthwhile venture. Essentially, in return for advertising space, we are reimbursed at a nominal rate. What I'm saying is: Feel free to pay visits to the sites advertised at the left. For each click, Callie and I are just a bit closer to going to college!

.
Callie says:
.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to brag, but we've gotten this far in the blog, and Cohen hasn't mentioned it, so I better share. If you haven't noticed in the pictures lately - I CAN SIT UP - ALL BY MYSELF! That's right - I'm officially a big girl! I didn't really know what I was missing before this latest acheivement, but it really has opened up a whole new world of playing with and chewing on toys!

.
Uh oh, much like at the Academy Awards, the prompter is telling me to wrap it up, and the music is starting to come on (aka, mommy and daddy are trying to get us into bed!), so I just want to quickly tell everyone I love them, and that Cohen does too!
.
A few more pictures below. Have a goodnight!
.

Happy “Lose an Hour” Day

Callie says:

Just wanted to remind anybody that has happened to avoid all forms of media and calendars to set your clocks forward an hour for Daylight Savings. My pretty pink cell phone actually resets itself, but I know not everyone is that technologically advanced!

Uh oh, Cohen is throwing a little fit right now so I better go. More details from our fun weekend soon.

Oh TOOOODLES

Callie says:

I just wanted to use this forum to share how special my big brother really is. I know that I teased him in my last post for looking like a monkey, but in reality, he's a pretty good big brother. He gives me lots of hugs and kisses, he gets really concerned when I whine, he tries to teach me things like how to crawl, and mommy and daddy say that when he hears me crying from another room, he says "get...baby?" and races to my room.

Heck, since he knows that my favorite show now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, he showed me how to play with the clubhouse today! Now that I'm able to sit up by myself, and close to becoming mobile, I can tell that we are gonna have LOTS of fun!

As an aside, pictures for our blog these days come from many different sources, and as such, the quality might differ. We think the pictures are still worth it though!

Fashion Show

Cohen says:

This isn't the type of thing that my mature, manly self would generally post these days, but since Callie is already in bed for the night I figured she couldn't tease me THAT bad.

Anyways, check out my new clothes. After the summer-like weather this weekend, I assumed it was time for the shorts and sandals. Of course, that was obviously silly since it snowed today, but oh well. I can wait for short weather, especially for the chance to play in the snow.

All for now. I'm sure Callie will have something witty soon too - she's pretty funny!

Callie's First Post

Callie says:
Hi everybody! I suppose this is my first official Blog post so that's kind of exciting. I'm posting from daddy's phone so I'm gonna keep it brief.

I just wanted to share this silly picture I snapped of Cohen and his monkey last night. People always say he acts like a monkey and frankly, I see a little resemblance =).

That's all for now. I was nervous about my first post but it was easier than I thought!

A New Era

Welcome to our new blog! While we expected it about 2 months ago, and with much more hoopla, we hope that it's been worth the wait. We still have some details to work out between the two of us and how we're going to share writing duties and photography responsibilities, but we'll get there!

For now, a few pictures from our adventure today. Mommy took us to a nearby field to play some soccer and stuff. She was probably inspired by the US National Team's poor performance against the Dutch today - either way - we had lots of fun!

We'll work on getting some more complex updates out here soon, and there will likely be some lay-out changes, so stay tuned!
